The Medina County Auditor's Office reminds commercial farmers that the deadline to file Current Agricultural Use Value renewal forms and new applications is March 7.

MEDINA, Ohio - Commercial farmers in Medina County need to turn in their Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV) renewal forms and new applications to the county Auditor's Office by March 7.

Property owners who are not currently enrolled in the program but may be eligible should contact the Auditor's Office to file an application.

There is a $25 filing fee for all new applications.

The CAUV is a state-mandated program that places the worth of land used for commercial agricultural production at a value based on costs of production rather than market appraisal value.

Commercial farmers can see substantial tax savings under this program.
