The RS3 Shrine

  • These three characters, and the romantic triangle they form, will appear in picture after Cukor picture, always with interesting variations. They show up even. And both films have the bike gang leader romancing a waitress in a cheap restaurant, although the waitress costume in Les Girls is infinitely more chic.

Romancing SaGa 3 was released in 1995 in Japan. The whole series never met the US shores, mainly because Square was worried that the game would flop because of its gameplay style.

Updates:

Shrine Complete! Now for some victoly music...

Note: Complete means we have everything except for a couple of images and things in the We Need section ;).

14/9/01:

Fixed up the Weapons, Items, Techniques, and Magic pages. They look much nicer now.

2/9/01:

Finished the Waza page with the exception of the images. They'll be put in as they're cropped (which might take a while). We'll also be making animated gifs of the waza (which will take even longer =P). Basically, it's going to be a while before you'll see all the images done in the Waza section =).

31/8/01:

Erm I'm back! I apologize for all the delays on the shrine. The magic page has been finished today so things are getting back in gear. Also:

16/8/01:

Added/finished the Formations and War Tactics sections. Thanks go out to Jiharn once again for pointing out that the maps page didn't work.

2nd update- Jiharn has continued his scanning process of the pages and pointed out numerous typos. Thanks go again to Jiharn!

14/8/01:

Completed the Armor section- some are still missing though.

13/8/01:

Fixed most of my stupid errors on the Weapons and Walkthrough pages. Seems my Ancient Cave walkthrough got messed up >.<. I'll get that fixed later today probably since it's 12:51 am. Also got a fair amount added to the Armor section which is now up.

12/8/01:

Finished the Pidona Workshop Sections. Added the 9th War Battle against the Abyss Monsters. Also added the images to the end of the 500-750 HP and the 750 HP+ walkthroughs. 11/8/01:

Converted the site to the RPGC Style. Also finished the Weapons Section. The Characters Section is completely finished this time.

10/8/01:

Completed the Workshop Section and Walkthrough. The Waza Section is also finished but needs pictures which will be taken shortly. The characters sections is also finished except for a picture of Yan Fan and Shonen.

7/8/01:

Added even more to the 750 HP+ walkthrough. Finishes a bit more on the Weapons Section.

6/8/01:

Added to the walkthrough for 750 HP+. I started the Magic Section and added the Weapon Section also, which is mostly completed. I still don't have all the data.

5/8/01:

Saga

Forgot to post a while back that Lunaris has been working with me on this shrine for quite a while ;). Also, the new custom sprite was made by Lunaris. I've finished the 500-750 HP walkthrough and added/completed the Ruling Game for the minigames section.

1/8/01:

Finished more of the 500-750 HP walkthrough. Added more to the Characters section.

29/7/01:

The Business Game part of the minigames section is completed. I began working on the 500-750 HP walkthrough.

28/7/01:

Added Map of the Water Abyss and finished the 350-500 HP walkthrough.

22/7/01:

Added Maps of Moses and the Dead Man's Well.

20/7/01:

I've done alot but not added to the main page. Added more characters, added the Rare Items section, added alot more to the walkthrough.

16/7/01:

Added more to the walkthroughs again. Fixed errors in the Secrets section (Thanks to Jiharn).

14/7/01:

Added more to the walkthroughs and character sections.

12/7/01:

Added the Stanley vs Farce battle to the War Game section. The Business and Ruling Games were also added. Muse's Dream was completed in the Walkthrough. Waza and Magic lists have been started.

9/7/01:

2 updates in one day?! I've added 4 more battles to the war game, finished all the main characters in the characters page, and finished the walkthrough for HP 150-250. The Workshop section has also been added along with the locations of all the old members, some weapons and armors.

I've added 4 battles to the war game: the Goblins through Edwin. Polished up the walkthrough a bit more.

8/7/01:

I've set up the Minigames Section to include the War Game and Ruling Game. I'm going to be working on a list of tactics and fix up the battles.

7/7/01:

Main Characters are completed and each have pictures. I have Katrina, Mikhail, Harid, and Monica's introductions completed.

(The Rarest Blooms #4)

The Duke of Castleford has been so bad for so long that scandal can’t be bothered to rise up around him anymore. To alleviate the boredom of his privileged life, he occupies himself with drinking and whoring, not to mention the occasional duel. When something piques his interest, however, he has been known to emerge from his ennui and employ his considerable mental faculti...more

I haven’t read or listened to any of the other books in this series, but I picked this up in the recent Tantor Audio sale (gawd bless ‘em!) and was immediately hooked by the superb narration by Kate Reading.
The story is pretty much a variant of your “jaded-rake-meets-woman-who-finally-interests-him” plot, but what marks it out as a bit different is the inclusion of the historical detail around the Peterloo Massacre in 1819, plus Daphne’s network of “sisters”, women who have been through

I have been anticipating Castleford’s story since I first met him back in the first book of this series, Ravishing in Red. He was drunk, debauched, arrogant, thoroughly wicked, and I was helplessly intrigued. He was almost unlikable in the beginning, but he grew through each book and stole the show whenever he had page time.
I think this book can be read as a standalone, but I don’t think you’ll have the same investment and fascination with Castleford if you haven’t seen him evolve throughout th

This is the final in a series and references the characters from those earlier books. You don't need to have read the others to enjoy this one. Probably. But I'd still recommend it.
I've been looking forward to this book from the beginning. Or, rather, I looked forward to a romance containing either Daphne or Castleford. Bonus that it's both! Castleford has been the go-to guy for out-of-the-box solutions for the guys in the series and Daphne the same for the women. So they're already strong chara

Once again I am completely taken by surprise. I kind of want to know what was going on in Madeline Hunter's head when she wrote Sinful in Satin and this book because, in all honesty, these two books were LEAGUES above the first two. I mean its night and day from book 2 to book 3. Just incredible :).
I seriously don't know where to begin because even after 10 days, I am still speechless. As I was hoping for in my Sinful in Satin review, Madeline Hunter decided to end her quartet with the equivale

I enjoyed Kate Reading's narration of this audiobook just as much as I enjoyed reading the book three years ago. I had forgotten some of the delicious details of the romance between Castleford and Daphne, and listening to these scenes was a toe-curling experience. I particularly liked the large doses of real life added to this rake-meets-spinster tale: the Peterloo massacre and the dilemma of unmarried ladies taken advantage of by powerful men. I do like real history in my historical romance.
You know how when you're a kid you just can't wait to open that one really special-looking present and it seems the day will never, ever arrive, but it finally does and you open it and there's just underwear and socks inside? That's kinda the way I felt when reading this, after waiting so many months with so much anticipation. The book has some beautiful moments but they are counterbalanced by some strange, awkward or boring ones. The secondary female characters, heroines of the 3 previous books...more

There are too many things wrong here. I cannot believe how Daphne was portrayed. Unbelieveable. Her past was just a headshake what? Oh really. Hmm. As for Castleford, while it irks me, his development was rather good.
SPOILERS RECAP:
Blah blah the Rarest Bloom we already know about. Daphne lives in the current residence that shelters the women that needs to get away from their unwanted past. Enter Castleford - absolute rakehell - who decided to check out what his damn father left him. Check: they

Very rarely I come back to give an extra star (from 4 to 5) a few hours after reading it.
Madeline Hunter is an exceptional romance writer. This final story in the Rarest Bloom series with Castleford and Daphne did not disappoint even though the plot and tempo seemed a more 'subdued' version of what I had expected of the characters- even so- The authentic dialogue and Castleford's reactions to love were terrificly portrayed.

Daphne Joyes has secrets and when the Duke of Castleford sees her and falls in instant lust, he makes it his mission to ferret out what she's not telling him and to seduce her.
The manslut hero in this book was really unique from run of the mill regency rakes because while he really was a manslut (he writes a guide book to London brothels), Madeline Hunter contrasts his rakish ways to another manslut/rake who is a disgusting criminal lecher. I found this contrast interesting because both rakes h

Not her best but methinks it's her most amusing book to date. Worth it just to see how the Duke of McSlut forsakes others & the rubber. If U're a HP addict, U can spot the surprise from a yard away. Not sure why she bothered to tell us his name is Tristan if Daphne nevah calls him that.
As always, a plethora of 'Astonish' - her fav word & its variety (astonished, astonishing, astonishment). @ last count : a whopping 19. Don't ask me why, my OCD compels me to tally. I'm just a weirdo that

I enjoyed the humor in this, but this secretive style of writing is not my favorite. I don't mind secrets, but I prefer to at least have a clue about them. As a result of this style, where the secrets are kept from both the hero(or heroine in other books) and the reader, the heroine comes off as cold and I never warmed up to her. I really enjoyed the hero, and I understood the need for secrecy in the end, I just prefer the style where the reader is clued in a bit more as the book progresses.

This might be worthy of a 3.5 stars. A standard Hunter experience for me, generally well written with some good sex scenes but just lacking sufficient heat, or story, or character interaction to take it to the next level of rating. It's frustrating because, as I've said before, I think she has the basic chops to write something special but it just doesn't get there and in some ways she's a victim of that when it comes to my grading . Probably how teachers feel when gifted kids just phone in thei...more

4.5/5. The Duke of Castleford works hard six days of the week to sustain his reputation as the supreme master of debauchery and wickedness. Tuesday is his only sober day, where he tends to tedious ducal matters. To his utter irritation, he unexpectedly inherits some minor land titles and dwellings, one of which houses the very proper and cool Mrs Joyce and her floral business. She piques his interest and disrupts his hedonistic pursuits and suddenly Tuesdays are no longer so tedious, and in fact...more

Thoroughly satisfying close to the Rarest Blooms series. Castleford's reformation still left enough of his wickedness intact to make him intriguing, and Daphne's secrets were heartbreaking enough to justify her holding onto them for so long. Together they were a well-balanced couple and I can see them settling into marriage with their friends the Summerhayes', the Albrightons and the Hawkesvilles quite nicely. Can't wait to see what Hunter has in mind for her next project. I have no doubt it wil...more

I finished it, because the writing was good and I was interested in the heroine's backstory, but it was hard because I HATED THE HERO SO MUCH. Classic alpha-hero shredding of the heroine's boundaries, possessiveness, imposition, deception, I HATE HATE HATE this premise. Blech, ick, ugh.

Castleford is one of those rare heroes that can carry an entire series, like Balogh’s Bewcastle or Eloisa James’s Villiers. From the first moment we met the drunken and debauched Castleford, his personality jumped off the page. I liked that his reformation was slow and gradual and quite believable, and not quite complete.
I have mixed feelings about Daphne. Obviously, I knew she had secrets that she kept to herself; as Audrianna, Verity and then Celia revealed their stories and left The Rarest Bl

I am fast becoming a great fan of Madeline Hunter and this captivating story only served to strengthen my interest and liking for her style. Ms. Hunter creates memorable heroes and Tristan Duke of Castleford is no exception. He is a rake of the first order and cares naught for the tons censure. From the first time Madeline Hunter introduced her readers to the Duke of Castleford, he intrigued and amused me. I loved seeing him show up in the first three books in The Rarest Blooms. He was fun and had a certain lack of seriousness that brought in some of my favorite lines in the four books. When I found out he was the hero of this book I was thrilled.

The last of the Rarest Blooms and my favourite.
Daphne is the most mysterious of the lot. We knew almost nothing about her. She would've been happy to let things go on for who knows how long when a duke interfered.
Castleford inherited the property on which Daphne lives from a cousin. He came to see it and to decide what to do. But from the moment he met Daphne his priorities shifted. Suddenly he spends more and more time on thinking about her and he isn't pleased by that.
